Each year we have a featured charity which benefits from our event. Over the years we have donated thousands of pounds to worthy causes.
Cancer Research UK funds scientists, doctors and nurses to help beat cancer sooner, and provides cancer information to the public.
Many people we know are affected by cancer, not just those who receive the diagnosis but also their family, friends and colleagues.
Last year one of our Formby Festival founders was diagnosed with breast cancer, resulting in a mastectomy. This brought about on-going physical and mental health issues and associated dramas and difficulties for the people concerned. However, they are grateful to be “still standing and alive” and ready to enjoy life to the full each day, as “we never know what’s around the corner”.
Cancer Research UK helps to alleviate the trauma of cancer sufferers, and to lessen the distress of those around them. Buying a ticket for Formby Festival 2024 contributes towards Cancer Research UK.
